Spinal Half-Twist / Ardha Matsyendrasana

Matsyendra: the name of a teacher of Yoga. Begin in Dandasana. Raise your right leg, cross it over the other, bend the knee, and ground the sole. Bend the left leg back, bringing its heel to your perineum in half-butterfly. Twist your torso rightwards and lay your left arm along the outside of your right leg. Reach your right arm around behiond your back and grasp the left side of your waist: ardha matsyendrasana, half-twist.
